Yerkin Tatishev and the Kusto Group invest in cutting edge technology to develop agriculture in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is on track to become a leader in the use of modern agricultural technologies thanks to local pioneer click here Yerkin Tatishev and investor, Yerkin Tatishev and the Kusto Group. Tatishev is realizing his lifelong dream of bringing his country into the 21stcentury using cutting edge technologies and international know-how. With wide experience in the manufacturing and mining industries, Tatishev, together with the Kusto Group, has turned its energies to agriculture. The outlook for the beef and dairy industries in Kazakhstan and neighboring Ukraine has never looked better. The group has recently launched a new initiative, known as Kazseed, to develop high quality seeds specifically for the local market.

Investment in the Local Agro-Beef Industry

As part of their commitment to develop local industries, Tatishev and the Kusto Group, in partnership with the government, invest heavily in agriculture. Their focus is the agro-beef industry as it has enormous potential to create jobs, improve the economy, and eventually increase the role Kazakhstan plays in the world beef market.

The government allocated some 80 percent of all Kazakhstan’s land to agriculture, while the Kusto Group built and nurtured the local industry with a company known as Kazbeef. Thanks in large part to the Kusto Group and its Kazbeef initiatives, Kazakhstan’s agro-beef industry has rapidly grown and become a significant player in regional beef production. Today, Kazbeef’s herd Kusto-Group-Yerkin in Kazakhstan is 20,000 strong.

The Kusto Group’s agricultural initiatives do not stop there. In an effort to expand the scope of their operation and role in the agriculture business, Kusto Group’s Agro branch has begun construction of a complex of dairy facilities in Lypne, Ukraine. This new project will focus around a 600-herd of free-range milk cows, and the facilities needed to process and commercialize the milk into consumer products. In addition, plans are already in the works https://www.zoominfo.com/p/Yerkin-Tatishev/-993202498 to buy Holstein cows; considered la crème de la crème in the dairy industry. The facility will also have space for expansion of breeding programs, birthing and non-dairy industry development. As in all the company’s endeavors, and projects lead by Tatishev, this facility is Check out here expected to be equipped with state of the art technology that will allow it to penetrate the industry successfully, create jobs and strengthen the local economy. The project is to be operational by summer 2019.

Future Technologies

Yerkin Tatishev is committed to all aspects and stages of the agro-beef industry and is dedicated to bringing cutting edge technology to every phase of the production, from genetics to seeds to irrigation equipment and technology all the way through to eventual harvests. This goes hand in hand with recognizing and targeting the consumer market for beef products from Kazakhstan, which Tatishev has recognized as the local consumers, as well as Russian and Chinese markets.

One significant area of development for Kazbeef is creating a smart system of traceability for livestock products, allowing the end consumer to trace the product they purchase through all stages of production, processing and distribution. This will be done using a QR code on the packaging, and Kazbeef is proud to be spearheading this tool in Kazakhstan.

Specialized breeding and the introduction of livestock from all over the world is another innovation for the area. Holstein Yerkin Tatishev-Kusto-Group cows for milk production, and Angus and Hereford cattle for beef production, are being imported and subsequently bred locally.

Packing technologies that embrace green approaches such as wind power on feedlots are being introduced by the company. Smart irrigation systems manage water consumption and ensure healthy crops, even with extreme fluctuations in weather and precipitation.

Development of non-GMO seeds by Kazseed specifically for the local climate will mean better, richer crops and will translate into an enhanced end-product. The commitment to non-genetically engineered seeds is an interesting strategy and points to a forward-looking approach. It recognizes the market need for high quality products and integrates innovation that is fully tested and proven to be effective.

Kazseed – The New Technology of Seed Development by Kusto

In partnership with Baumgartner Agriculture Science and Service (BASS), one of the leading non-GMO seed producers in the world, the Kusto group has established a new company called Kazseed. Tatishev is proud to announce that farmers will finally get access to world class seeds, specially selected for the climatic and environmental needs of Kazakhstan.

Kazseed will continue the Kusto Group’s ongoing efforts to introduce cutting-edge technology across their day-to-day operations. The passion is demonstrated by Kusto’s $25m investment in this project. High quality technology has the power to change people’s lives for the better and Kusto is committed to ensure this is the case for Kazakh agriculture.

Tatishev, speaking at a recent conference, remarked, “I am also pleased to see the Kazakhstan government’s support and involvement. This project is being developed in close cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture to produce fodder seeds for the benefit of the entire country’s agriculture sector and beyond. It is essential that businesses and companies work together in the interest of society’s wellbeing. It is an attitude I have adopted throughout my career and my door is always open to partnership with like-minded institutions in the many countries in which we operate.”

Kazseed has the potential to significantly boost employment and prosperity in local communities in Kazakhstan. Businesses have a responsibility to uphold these values and they are obviously a core component of the Kusto Group’s thinking.

Businessman Yerkin Tatishev: Finally, Justice is Served as Criminal Fraudster is Convicted of Murder

It took thirteen long years, but a court in the Kazakh city of Zhambyl has finally handed the notorious Kazakh fraudster Mukhtar Ablyazov a life sentence for orchestrating the murder of his former business partner in the banking world, Yerzhan Tatishev.

In a statement, Yerzhan’s brother, Yerkin Tatishev, said he welcomed the decision of the Zhambyl Oblast Regional Court recognizing Ablyazov’s key role in the murder of his sibling back in 2005. He remarked, “We cannot return our beloved Yerzhan. We miss him very much, and every day we regret that he is TatishevYerkin not with us. However, we feel a sense of satisfaction that, after so many years of struggle, a fair judgment has been rendered. We believe that the judiciary will bring to justice all the perpetrators, and we hope that retribution will come true.”

Ablyazov was sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment. He fled Kazakhstan nearly nine charity years ago amid accusations of fraud on an epic scale, comparable with some of the largest money heists in modern history.

The fraudster began his career after the collapse of the Soviet Union, registering a company in the newly independent Republic of Kazakhstan in December 1992. The firm sold fax machines, photocopiers, and computers. Launching several businesses in quick succession, he lured people into investing in Astana Holding Bank, which was among the first institutions in the country to obtain a private banking license. Some of those people would later lose everything they invested.

Ablyazov was appointed as head of the state-owned Kazakhstan Electricity Company and joined the government as Minister for Energy, Industry, and Trade. Within a year, revenues were down by 12 percent and expenditure up by 53 percent. This became a pattern when repeated in 1999, when he was named CEO of Air Kazakhstan. He swiftly set about asset-stripping the company into financial meltdown and bankruptcy. In 2002, Ablyazov was sentenced to jail for his abuse of public office. He spent one year behind bars.

In 2005, Ablyazov became chairman of BTA Bank, following the death of Yerkin Tatishev-Kusto-Group his predecessor, Yerzhan Tatishev. At the time, the incident was reported as a freak hunting accident, though the circumstances were always highly suspicious, especially as reported in US Embassy cables made public. Finally, in November 2017, Muratkhan Tokhmadiyev, the man who admitted at the time to shooting Ablyazov’s business partner, recanted his original statement and admitted the killing was not an accident. This was after he was confronted with a range of newly completed, expert forensic analyses performed by foreign experts. Tokhmadiyev told a court in Almaty: “Each time I met him [Ablyazov], he argued that Yerzhan could not at any instant keep or sustain his word… He proposed to deal with the problem through the physical elimination click here of Yerzhan. This would happen during a hunting trip and look like an accidental death. And so it happened.”

As the new chairman of BTA Bank, Ablyazov was now free to begin secretly funneling money out of the largest retail bank in Kazakhstan. He did so using an intricate network of shell companies to disguise the embezzlement. First, he issued loans to finance real estate deals throughout the former Soviet Union. The loans were passed through a web of straw companies that existed only on paper for Ablyazov to cover his tracks. Over the next four years, at least $8 billion worth of loans were approved, largely to entities with no collateral, based in tax havens in which Ablyazov held a significant but anonymous ownership interest.

Following the 2008 financial crash and Ablyazov’s flight from his homeland to claim asylum in the UK, an audit by the Kazakh authorities rang the alarm bells regarding the fraud. As the pieces of the puzzle were painstakingly put together, over a thousand companies in which Mukhtar Ablyazov held an interest were identified around the world.

Ablyazov’s asylum in England was short-lived, as BTA Bank brought lawsuits against him in the British courts. After being charged with contempt of court, Ablyazov fled to France, while the British authorities moved to seize millions of dollars’ worth of real estate in his name and formally rescind his asylum status.

Despite extradition orders issued by various countries, Ablyazov continues Yerkin Tatishev to live an exotic lifestyle in France, enjoying the fruits of the fortune he illegally amassed at the expense of countless ordinary people.

The murder conviction follows a serious investigation with international as well as local Kazakh detective work. At the very least, it allows the Tatishev family and the Kazakh nation to take some comfort in the fact that justice has finally being recognized. If international norms and agreements are adhered to, there is even a chance that thieving murderers like Ablyazov will do hard time behind bars for the cold-blooded and ruthless crimes they commit. Then, justice would not only be served, but punishment justly felt as well.

The presence of these high-profile political figures highlights the significant implications of this historic deal. Kusto Group has identified huge economic potential in the agricultural market of its founders’ homeland of Kazakhstan. According to Tatishev, “Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector has long suffered from a lack of investment.”
